The Forrester’s were a very important line of the Stevenson family and if not for some unkown event in Hugh Grant Forrester\u00b4s youth then I would probably be called David Albert Forrester now. Similar to the Lockley connection the Forrester\u00b4s history was founded in the villages of Shropshire. Notably Edgmond and Cheswardine which was a neighboring village to Hinstock is where we find the most records. The grave of Thomas Forrester 4th and his wife Jane can still be found next to Cheswardine\u00b4s village church ie. st. Swithun\u00b4s. The church is well worth a visit and can easily be combined with avisit to Hinstock. Our forebears seem to have been successful farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t

Thomas Forrester 1st<\/a><\/div>

Thomas Forrester was born in Edgmond in 1678. He married Margaret Bryan on 17th of January 1703. They had 4 children the last of which to be born was our Thomas.\r\nWilliam born in 1703 \/ incidently was apprenticed as a wheelwright in 1716\r\nMargaret born in 1706\r\nElizabeth born in 1708\r\nThomas born in 1710<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Thomas Forester was born in 1710 in Edgmond, Shropshire. He married Miriam “Mary” Lovekin on 24 December 1732 in Market Drayton, Shropshire. They had one child during their marriage.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Thomas Forrester 3rd<\/a><\/div>

When Thomas Forrester was born in 1739 in Hinstock, Shropshire, his father, Thomas, was 29 and his mother, Miriam, was 32. He married Hannah Sargant on 13 January 1763 in Market Drayton, Shropshire. They had one child during their marriage. He died in 1803 in Cheswardine, Shropshire, at the age of 64.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Thomas Forrester 4th<\/a><\/div>

When Thomas Forrester was born in 1779 in Cheswardine, Shropshire, his father, Thomas, was 40 and his mother, Hannah, was 40. He married Jane Plumb on 17 November 1803 in his hometown. They had five children in 17 years. He died in 1836 in Market Drayton, Shropshire, at the age of 57.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

James Forrester<\/a><\/div>

When James Forrester was born in March 1807 in Cheswardine, Shropshire, his father, Thomas, was 28 and his mother, Jane, was 25. He married Mary Ann Martin in July 1849 in Market Drayton, Shropshire. They had five children in 13 years. He had three brothers and one sister.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Harriet Forrester<\/a><\/div>

When Harriet Forrester was born on 14 February 1851 in Cheswardine, Shropshire, her father, James, was 43, and her mother, Mary, was 20. Harriet was deaf & dumb form birth and must have had great difficulty in communicating. Her early years were spent on the family farm in Cheswardine but this soon changed about 1865 she is living in Liverpool. There she had one son (Hugh Grant Forrester) to her uncle Mark Grant. Later she married George Fowler and they had four children together. She had two brothers and three sisters (she was the only girl to survive into adulthood).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Hugh Grant Forrester<\/a><\/div>

Hugh Grant Forrester was the very last of the Forresters recorded in our history. He was born out of wedlock and therefore retained his mother’s maiden name.\u00a0 For reasons unknown to us, he adopted a new name when he was about 19 years old and furthered his life from then on as John Stevenson. Nowadays it would be unthinkable to simply start calling yourself another name, get married, have 12 children all without running into problems.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t
